This beautiful village of 1,875 inhabitants is situated on the St. John River,
on the very edge of some of the best hunting, fishing and wilderness areas on
the continent.
Recreation
Perth-Andover is home to many take-outs, restaurants, and a country club to keep
you fed and relaxed. For outdoor enthusiasts, the area boasts a marina,
beautiful camping areas, NB hiking trails, great fishing and canoeing. And the
Muniac Park and Beechwood Dam are located just a short drive away. The village
also has many organized sports events during the summer - swimming, soccer,
baseball, tennis and basketball. A Saturday morning farmers' market and annual
strawberry festival offer excitement and good food.
In winter, there is snowmobiling and cross-country skiing on the area trails, as
well as downhill skiing at Mt. Farlane, just an hour and a half drive away.
Perth-Andover also offers curling, hockey, and figure skating for kids of all
ages. Throughout the entire year, the Civic Centre entertains with concerts and
other events, as well as clubs for adults and children.
Employment
With the region's Hotel-Dieu of St.-Joseph, a medical clinic, and the Victoria
Glen Manor all located in Perth-Andover, a significant portion of the population
is involved in health care. Government agencies also employ many residents.
