Established October 2003, the Gibson Health Clinic has been at its 231 Canada
Street, Fredericton North site since January 14, 2004. Our collaborative care
team is made up of seven physicians, a family nurse practitioner, nurses,
licensed practical nurses and administrative support staff. They work together
to provide health care to families in this region.
As a patient of the Clinic, you will work together with
your family doctor and the Clinic’s other health care
providers to set goals for achieving and maintaining your
best possible health. The clinic also offers educational
sessions and wellness programs that will help you in making
healthy lifestyle changes and in promoting better health.

Appointments and
Cancellations
Gibson Health Clinic is not a walk-in clinic.
Primary health care is delivered by appointment only to the
patients of the Clinic.
If you are a clinic patient, please call (506) 447-4444
to book an appointment. This includes appointments for
urgent care. If your health care provider is not available
on the day you need an appointment, you will be booked with
a different physician, or a nurse, or the nurse
practitioner.
According to clinic policy, if you do not show up for
your scheduled appointment you will pay a $15.00 charge.
Therefore, if you are unable to keep your appointment,
please call the clinic as soon as possible. Choose the
appointment cancellation option and leave the patient’s name
and the date and time of the appointment you would like to
cancel. When you do not show up for your appointment, we are
not able to provide care to another patient who requires an
urgent appointment.

Medications
(prescription and over-the-counter)
Please bring your medications with you to each
appointment so that we can update your medical file.
You must book an appointment to have a medication
refilled. If you call the clinic to have your medication
refilled, you will be charged $10.00. Therefore, patients
should request prescriptions refills during their doctor’s
appointment.

Looking for a family
doctor?
If you do not have a family physician, you may leave your
name and contact information on the River Valley Health
Patient Registry. The registry was created to establish a
database of individuals in this region who need a family
physician. If there are patient vacancies at the Gibson
Health Clinic, individuals from the Registry will be
contacted.
To register your information, please call 1-866-554-5959,
or log on to
www.rivervalleyhealth.nb.ca. You will be asked for your
name, phone number and the community where you are looking
for a doctor. Your information will be offered to a family
doctor in your area when one becomes available.

Directions
Gibson Health Clinic from Westmorland Bridge: (Fredericton)
· Cross the Westmorland Bridge.
· Take the Union Street exit off the bridge.
· At the bottom of the ramp, turn right.
· Proceed along Union several kilometres, pass the
Tim Hortons; turn left at Gibson street
lights. There is a large park on the right.
· Once on Gibson Street, travel several kilometres
and pass a "Welcome to Marysville" sign. Gibson Street becomes Canada Street.
Watch for Veterans Court on the left and beside that is the Gibson Health
Clinic.
Gibson Health Clinic from Princess Margaret Bridge:
(Fredericton)
· Cross the Princess Margaret Bridge.
· Take the Miramichi exit
immediately off the bridge.
· Go straight through lights and follow Union
Street, pass the Nashwaak Hotel
· Turn right at Gibson Street set of lights
· Once on Gibson Street, travel several kilometres
and pass a "Welcome to Marysville" sign. Gibson Street
becomes Canada Street. Watch for Veterans Court on the left
and beside that is the Gibson Health Clinic.
