Bank Machine
Located in the Main Lobby on the First Floor and on the second floor by the cafeteria.

Cafeteria
Located on the Second Floor. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., daily including weekends and statutory holidays. Vending machines are located inside the entrance to the Cafeteria. They are available 24 hours a day.

Pastoral Care/Chapel
Community clergy and religious leaders have 24 hour access for visitation, spiritual guidance, prayer and support. A duty chaplain and priest are available on-call for pastoral emergencies by contacting the hospital switchboard at 452-5400.
The Chapel is accessible 24 hours daily. Located on the first floor near the main lobby, it is accessible after hours by the back corridor next the the Intensive Care Unit.
Bibles (provided by the Gideons) are available. Other sacred religious tests may be requested by calling the Pastoral Care Office at 452-5408.

A Christian Workshop Service is held each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Cards indicating your desire to attend are distributed on Saturday supper trays. Speak to your nurse about attending worship.
Volunteers assist those attending.

Coffee Shop
A small coffee shop serving food items and refreshments is located on the First Floor, next to the elevators. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Gift Shop
The Gift Box is located near the Main Lobby. It is normally open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call 452-5407 for the Gift Box.

Hair Care
The Beauty Shop is located on the First Floor, across from the elevators. It is normally open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call 452-5266 for an appointment.

* The Coffee Shop, Gift Box and Beauty Shop are operated by the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Auxiliary Inc.

Newspapers
Available from vending machines in the hospital's Main Lobby and Emergency Department.

Parking
There is an hourly charge for parking. There is a daily maximum charge, which is posted at the parking wicket. If you will be in the hospital more than a few days, you may want to consider purchasing a 15-day or monthly pass. Parking passes are available from the Cashier's Office in the Main Lobby or at the parking-pay booth.

Wheelchair accessible parking is available at the Main and Emergency entrances.

Personal Television Rental Service

   

logo  The Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH), in         partnership with the Hospitality Network, is pleased to provide   patients with personal bedside television rental service.

 

    A portion of the revenues generated by this service is returned to the hospital to   
    help fund various hospital improvements.

 

    Pricing Information

    Basic Television: $8.50 per day (plus applicable taxes).*

    Premium TV Service (Includes Basic TV): $10.00 per day (plus applicable taxes).

    * Special rates are available for long-term patients.

 

    The DECRH provides bedside TV service at no charge for patients who request,
    receive and pay for a private or semi-private room either personally or by using
    their secondary health insurance (e.g. Blue Cross, Green Shield, Wawanesa, etc.),  
    provided that their insurance plan covers preferred accommodation. Please contact
    the Admitting Department at the DECRH, or a dial 199 from the patient bedside
    phone and a Hospitality Network Customer Service Representative will visit you
    shortly to verify your room coverage and rental status.

 

   Arranging for Service

    Please dial 199 from the patient bedside telephone and follow the easy instructions
    to activate service. Television service will be activated automatically with in a few 
    minutes after you hang up.

 
   
If you are paying by cash, cheque or believe that you may qualify for the Preferred  
    Accommodations program, a Hospitality Network will visit you between the hours of
    3:30 pm and 7 pm daily, excluding statutory holidays.

 

    Payment

  We recommend renting your TV with your VISA and MasterCard. If credit card 
    payment is not an option for you, a Hospitality Network Customer Service
    Representative will collect payment from you. Please note: payment is due upon  
    activation and renewal.

Transportation
Direct telephone lines to taxi services are located at the front doors of the hospital's Main and Emergency entrances. The local transit bus stops in front of the hospital's Main Entrance.

Vending Machines
Vending machines, which offer candy, snacks and drinks, are located in the hallway connecting the Emergency Department and Main Lobby and at the front entrance of 4 West unit. Machines offering food items, candy, snacks and drinks are located in the front entrance of the Cafeteria on the Second Floor.

Visiting Hours
General visiting hours are 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Restrictions apply to:
Psychiatry (2SE): 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., weekends/holidays - 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (visiting permitted).
Pediatrics (3SE): Rest period: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.(visiting not permitted).
Maternity (3NW): 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. (General visiting, including visiting for siblings/grandparents ), 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (visiting for Father) , Rest period: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (visiting not permitted).
Orthopedics (4NE): 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., weekends/holidays (visiting permitted).

Washrooms - Public
Public washrooms are located on the south side of the building on the First, Third and Fourth Floors, within the Emergency Department and outside of the Cafeteria's entrance on the Second Floor.
